I don't know which Lawless novel this is, or if there's a sequence, but I found it to be a good story, with only a handful of scruffy words. The story revolvesaround a young family who's mother has died and father has given his life over to violence and drink. A young man named Lawless stumbles into their life, and the story goes quickly from that. I read the sample first.

Poorly done. I didn't even bother finish this one. I must have gotten the wrong impression from 's description or I missed the point entirely. Either way I put it down early and didn't bother to go back to it.
I would have liked a better ending....but it was ok....fun
I did indeed find this to be well worth the read. It will certainly bring me back for more. While my favorite writer is West, Hays does do a creditable job . Very discriptive, with his details.
Enjoyed this book very much. My first read by this author but not my last. The story line moved at a good pace and had a few surprises in it. I will be back again for another "Lawless Western".
